About

AmherstTalks bridges the gap between local government and residents by inserting a previously missing element: Interactive, asynchronous community engagement. Connect with your town government and fellow residents about issues that affect YOU! AmherstTalks is the product of a partnership between the Initiative for Digital Public Infrastructure (iDPI) at UMass Amherst and the Town of Amherst.

Guidelines

AmherstTalks is a place for thoughtful discussion. It’s a place to connect with your neighbors and town government, and to keep in the know about what’s happening in your backyard. We want everyone to feel free to share their perspective and to feel safe, welcome and respected when using AmherstTalks.

In summary, we ask you to uphold one main idea as you use AmherstTalks: These are the people in your town. Treat everyone here with respect.

You don't need an account to read the discussion on AmherstTalks, but you do need an account if you want to participate. To see the discussion on AmherstTalks without an account you can go to this link.
